The World's Largest Worldwide Mobile Markets

While cell phone use is common around the world there are some places where more people are using phones. These places are ones that are generally larger in population, but the main thing is that these are places where the business of cell phones is especially great. There are all sorts of great places that are among the largest worldwide mobile markets.

China is by far the world's largest market for cell phone use. A little less than half of the people in the country have cell phones. As of 2008 there are about 560 million people in the country who have cell phones. It should be noted that the two groups that people get phones from in China are state owned.

India has been growing in terms of technology in recent years. As a result the level of competition for cell phone use has become especially great. Today more than 300 million people in India have cell phones.

It's no secret that the United States is one of the largest worldwide mobile markets, what with all sorts of major cell phone services being offered by an immense amount of groups. About 255 million people use cell phones in the United States, and there are more than fifteen groups that are competing around the country for cell phone users.

Russia has been growing despite having only a couple of major providers for cell phones, most notably MTS and Beeline. About 160 million people in Russia have cell phone access.

Japan's numbers have been increasing over the years. Today a little over a hundred million people use cell phones in Japan. However, a majority of business is done by the state owned NTT DoCoMo company. Regardless, there are about five other groups competing in Japan for customers.

The number of users in the United Kingdom has been increasing as well. About 77 million people in the area have cell phones. Nearly Ireland has another five million.

Of course, while not all markets are large in size they are at least continuing to grow over time. For instance, it is estimated that more than sixty million people in Africa have access to cell phones. A majority of the use is in South Africa, Nigeria and Morocco though. Also, with cell phone technology becoming more affordable in recent years these areas will continue to grow in terms of popularity.

The largest worldwide mobile markets are among some of the largest places in the world, but they are also among the most successful markets. These places have great levels of usage and in many cases even greater levels of competition. Many different countries are still growing in terms of use.
